Our Union was asked ealier today and yesterday whether we
were willing to come back to work if the District promised
to start negotiating with us some time in the future. We gave
them an unequivocal "No". We do not want to come
back to work without a contract and we won't come back until
bargaining begins and progres has been made.
And yet, tonight the Transit District called us back to the
table for the sole purpose of telling us they were willing
to expolore a multi year deal - but only if we went back to
work first. That was unacceptable yesterday, unacceptable
this morning and it is still unacceptable tonight.
