A Retirement Party is like a Funeral,
Not for the Dead, but for the Dying

We have had the first formal Retirement of one of our founding Union Activists. J. David Lyall, formerly known as Chairman Wow, took early retirement from the Transit District the day after his 51^st birthday. Today he can be reached at Webmaster of Local 23. Like most other Union tasks over the years, this position is honorary and unpaid.

These disreputable characters were at the negotiating table together in 1982. On different sides. The big mustache is Emery Ross, Operations manager at the time. Lauren Suhd, Forest Miller and David Lyall (in the back, with the loud tie) were the Union negotiating team, along with other drivers. It was Lauren who popularized the nom de combat, Chairman Wow
